BUSHWICK METALS STOCKS THE FOLLOWING SEVEN GRADES OF STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless Steel 303 is a rendition of stainless steel type 304, designed to be a free machining stainless steel to be used by automatic machining equipment. Typical end uses are: shafts, screw machine parts, gears, valve parts, etc.

Stainless Steel 304 is a general-purpose, Chrome-Nickel type of stainless steel that offers good formability and good weldability. Excellent stability and shock resistance at very low temperatures. Stainless Steel 304 offers good corrosion
resistance in many different corrosive and atmospheric conditions. A general-purpose stainless steel that is used widely in many different applications and industries.

Stainless Steel 304L is a low carbon content version of Stainless Steel 304. This low carbon content version is used in order to avoid intergranular carbides during the welding process. Stainless Steel 304L has slightly lower mechanical properties
than Stainless Steel 304 straight grade.

Stainless Steel 304 / 304L, (Dual Certified): Bushwick Metals offers many sizes of bars that are Dual Certified 304 / 304L. These bars meet the requirements of both grades: 304 and 304L. Ask your Bushwick salesperson for the specifics if you have a Dual Certified Stainless Steel 304 / 304L bar requirement.

Stainless Steel 316 is a Nickel-Chrome-Molybdenum type of stainless steel that offers more corrosion resistance and pitting resistance than Stainless Steel 304. Offers more strength at elevated temperatures that Stainless Steel 304. Stainless
Steel 316 is formable and weldable. Stainless Steel 316 is usually called for in high temperature or corrosive applications.

Stainless Steel 316L is a low carbon content version of Stainless Steel 316. This low carbon content version is used in order to avoid intergranular carbides during the welding process. Stainless Steel 316L has slightly lower mechanical properties
than Stainless Steel 316 straight grade. Offers the same corrosion resistance and high temperature characteristics as Stainless Steel 316 straight grade.

Stainless Steel 316 / 316L, (Dual Certified): Bushwick Metals offers many sizes of bars that are Dual Certified 316 / 316L. These bars meet the requirements of both grades: 316 and 316L. Ask your Bushwick salesperson for the specifics if you have a Dual Certified Stainless Steel 316 / 316L bar requirement.
